Hello! My name is
Samuel Huston, and I go by my middle name Clay.
I am relatively local, having brown up in Oceanside. All of my non collegiate schooling was in
Oceanside. I went to Del Rio Elementary
School until the sixth grade. Our junior
high was Lincoln Junior High School. I
attended El Camino High School before moving north to persue my college
education. I earned my Associates degree
from FootHill Community College. I then
transferred to Cal Stats San Marcos for a BS in Business administration with an
emphasis on finance. I worked my way
through school so I never seemed to have enough time for everything in my
life. I have always found upper division
classes to be somewhat difficult, but enjoyable.
As far as
technology, I have always been more of a hardware guy than a software guy. I can build a computer or update firmware on
a bluray player with ease. However, I do
not sit glued to my computer watching people update their status on
facebook. I’ve always found social
networking to be pretty lame. I do like
the ability to connect with people that I have not seen in years however.
I really
like CSUSM’s mission statement insofar as it places the emphasis on the
student. The student is the reason for
us being here and they need to be at the center of any teacher oriented
discussion.
Hi Samuel, it is interesting that you are able to build a computer! That is something that seems so far from anything I would think I could ever do!
